Welcome to the weekend fishing prediction with Captain Griffin Deans of Slot Machine Fishing Charters and Skyway Bait & Tackle!

We had some rough weather roll in yesterday. It got windy today, and temperatures are down a little bit. Saturday turned out windy, and although it warmed up a little Sunday, we’ve got classic spring weather patterns – warming temperatures with winds.

We’re beginning to see more snapper and the fish are coming down out of their river hide-outs to grace us.

To learn how to catch these fish, visit our websites, and book a charter. We’ll take you out and show you where the fish are at.

Good luck this weekend, you guys!

INSHORE KAYAKERS should be jumping for joy because the snapper is a perfect fish to snag from that yak!

There’s an old saying that says, “where there’s one snapper, there’s many.” And we tend to find this statement holds truth. Typically you’ll get eaten off, and then you’ll catch a couple of small juveniles. Hold tight, make sure that bait is on there as well as it can be, and set that hook! Those big guys are under there waiting for the perfect moment, and you’ll be there to catch it.

To learn how to catch these beautiful food fish or any of the upcoming species, book a fishing lesson or kayak charter. We’ll teach you what we know about saltwater fishing from bait to plate and get you out there catching more fish!

OFFSHORE REPORTS

Much sun and lower winds allow for a hotter bite and have brought back the trout! There’s some good snook action in deeper waterways, and we’re now finding pompano mixed in with the sheepshead near the bridges.

Flounder are still be caught at the passes with live bait, and offshore reports have been solid with red grouper and hogs.

It’s an excellent time to start cleaning up those tarpon and kingfish reels because they’re coming!

BAIT SHOP TIPS, TALES, & SALES!

It’s the last week of our “Love your Fish Contest,” and we highly suggest you send those photos of your spotted sea trout, snook, and redfish releases! We will hold a drawing of all photo entries and will be giving away a half-day fishing charter with our very own Captain Griffin Deans as the prize. This is a great opportunity to love your fish and get out there with one of the areas premier charter Captains.

In bait shop news, we are now hiring! If you like to fish, talk fishing, and want to get paid to do so – we highly suggest you apply. We are looking for upbeat characters who know a bit about fishing, and a lot about the area.

We look forward to having you at the shop and encourage you to recommend anyone you may want to see in there daily. In the meantime, we’ll be here slinging shrimp and directing our community where to Catch More Fish!
