Teach the Next Generation to Fish

At T3 F Inc., we believe that learning to fish builds patience, confidence, self-reliance, and a lifelong respect for Tampa Bay’s natural resources. On Saturday, August 15, 2026, we are bringing local children to the Green Bridge Fishing Pier in Palmetto for a hands-on morning of angling, hot dog lunches, and prizes.

Whether you are an experienced angler who can tie a Uni-knot in your sleep or a community member ready to lend a helping hand, your time makes a lasting impact. Join our shore team and help pass down the legacy.

Volunteer Roles Needed

Angler Mentors (Pier Crew)

Assist children at fishing stations with baiting hooks (live shrimp and frozen bait), untangling lines, basic casting guidance, and safe catch-and-release handling.

Check-In & Registration

Greet families at the pier entrance, verify digital parent waivers, hand out event wristbands and T-shirts, and keep participant flow moving efficiently.

Hydration & Meal Service

Support Kiwanis with hot dog lunch logistics, monitor ice and drink stations, and ensure water is distributed to kids and mentors along the pier.

Event Runners & Site Support

Transport bait, fresh ice, and terminal tackle to pier stations, assist staff with photographer support, prize staging, and general site management.


Event Day Information for Volunteers

EVENT DAY DETAILS & REQUIREMENTS

Event Date: Saturday, August 15, 2026 Volunteer Call Time: 7:30 AM (Orientation, Coffee, and Station Assignment) Event Hours: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Location: Green Bridge Fishing Pier | Palmetto, Florida

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING

  • Volunteer T-Shirt: You will receive your official event t-shirt at the check-in tent during morning orientation at 7:30 AM.

  • Footwear: Closed-toe shoes or non-slip deck shoes are required. Flip-flops and sandals are strictly prohibited on the pier for safety reasons.

  • Sun Protection: Bring a wide-brim hat, polarized sunglasses, and sunblock. Apply sunblock before arrival and reapply throughout the morning.

  • Hydration: Cold water and drinks will be provided by Kiwanis throughout the event. You are encouraged to bring a personal insulated water bottle to keep at your assigned station.

  • Angler Mentor Tools: If you are signed up as an Angler Mentor, feel free to bring your own pliers, braid cutters, or dehooking tools. Please leave personal fishing rods at home so full focus remains on helping the youth participants.

PARKING AND ARRIVAL

  • Parking Area: Park in the main public parking area at the Palmetto entrance of the Green Bridge Fishing Pier.

  • Check-In Desk: Upon arrival, report directly to the T3 F Command Tent located at the pier head no later than 7:30 AM.

  • Briefing: The mandatory volunteer safety and operational briefing will begin promptly at 7:45 AM.
