We’ve had a full week of clear skies and steady conditions, and the same pattern looks to continue straight through the weekend and into the Thanksgiving break. Stable weather always helps the bite, especially in Tampa Bay.
Q: What’s happening with the inshore fishing this week?
Inshore fishing is strong. With mid-70s temperatures and a good incoming tide in the mornings, the snook bite has been the highlight. Snook are feeding aggressively and have been the most consistent catch across the Bay.
Redfish are around, but not as thick or as big as usual. You’ll find a few mixed in, but snook are definitely the main target right now.
Q: Where are the trout holding?
Trout have been stacked in the shallower grass, especially near bulkheads. They’re not sitting deep this week. The fish being caught have been good size and quality, making them another solid option for weekend anglers.
Q: What about nearshore and the deeper water inside the Bay?
Everything that eats shrimp is chewing. Anglers fishing shrimp or cut bait are seeing:
